We are looking for a talented & passionate Junior Data Engineer for the IT Department, who will be based in Heraklion, Crete.

As a Junior Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the architecture of our data infrastructure, ensuring the seamless flow and accessibility of data across the organization. Your responsibilities will include the development, testing, and maintenance of data solutions, working closely with various teams to support and enhance data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate should possess a passion for data, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the eagerness to grow within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design, construction, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from various sources.
• Implement data quality checks and data governance practices.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions that support organizational goals.
• Collaborate with BI analysts to provide the data infrastructure needed for analysis and business intelligence solutions.
• Support data analysis efforts to aid in business decision-making processes.
• Engage in continuous learning to stay abreast of new data engineering technologies and methodologies.

The candidate we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, including data modeling, storage, and retrieval processes.
• Familiarity with data pipeline and workflow management tools.
• Experience with Azure cloud services and Databricks analytics platform is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to approach problems with quantitative thinking.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
• Fluency in Greek and English.
