Partly remoteThe Data Science department is looking for a Manager of Core Pricing to lead the quant team responsible for the overall performance of the pre-match bet-builder pricing models. The role will be based in Athens or London on a hybrid model with the expectation of 2 days per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the team in building and maintaining our pricing models.
- Create model prototypes and communicate these clearly to the team for implementation. Mentor the team on best practices when it comes to creating pricing models.
- Liaise with the wider Core Content teams (Data Science, Product, Engineering, and Trading) to integrate the models into production.
- Establish testing standards for pricing accuracy and technical performance.
- Ensure that (a) coding principles are being implemented and that (b) modeling processes are well documented.
- Create yearly roadmaps with various milestones to monitor the progress of the team.
- Collaborate closely with product owners and software developers to move projects from idea to integration.
- Communicate with clients the key elements that govern the model.
- Report to the Director of Data Science on workflow and share findings with the Data Science team.
As a prerequisite to be considered for the role, you must have 3+ years working experience as a Quant or Data Scientist in the betting industry.
Essential qualifications
- 3+ years of working experience in the betting industry.
- A postgraduate qualification in Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related quantitative field.
- Advanced programming skills: (a) statistical programming (R or Python), (b) object-oriented programming (C# or Java), and (c) SQL.
- Experience with various modeling techniques (e.g. Probability Distributions, GLMs, Monte Carlo Simulations, Bayesian Inference, Time-Series Analysis, etc.)
- A demonstrable interest in developing forecasting models for sports.
- Experience with version control platforms (e.g. GitHub, Gitlab, Bitbucket etc.)
Desirable qualifications
- Working experience in a managerial position of a Data Science team.
- A PhD in a quantitative field.
- Experience with various supervised/unsupervised/reinforcement learning methodologies (e.g. Neural Networks, Random Forests, GBMs, SVMs etc.).
- Experience with database management tools.
- Experience with data visualization platforms (e.g. Tableau, Qlik Sense, R-shiny, etc.).
- Experience with Jira and Confluence.
