We are seeking for a talented and motivated Design Manager to review the design process of a hospitality project in Greece. Reporting to the Head of Development, the role will be key to the successful delivery of a project for the repositioning of a 1000 key resort hotel.

The Design manager’s role will be to provide design management services during the construction phase of the project. Liaising with the development, project management and operational teams.

The successful candidate is likely to have 8 years plus experience in managing design which could be a form of architectural practice, project management company or contractor.

Candidate Requirements: 

• Strong academics in architecture or civil engineering.
• At least 8 years of experience in a Design Coordination and Reviewer role.
• Experience in the hospitality sector will be considered a plus.
• Good understanding of all disciplines (architecture, interior, structural and mep).
• Understanding of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance responsibility)
• Knowledge of the Greek Hospitality sector in terms of benchmarking.
• Ability to review through Design softwares and MS Office.
• Ability to manage the project time-schedule and Capex.
• Experience in LEED will be considered a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Strong written/verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively his/her opinions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Self-motivated and proactive with a proven ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Confident in working and addressing unstructured and new situations, taking on new challenges. 
• Positive attitude, capable of contributing to a dynamic and team-oriented culture.
• Proficiency in English and Greek. 
• Demonstrable passion for Design and Real Estate. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the client representation on site in terms of Design throughout the delivery of the project.
• Review the design deliverables, provide comments and make suggestions. 
• Liaise with the Construction Manager, Project Manager, and other Consultants to provide feedback and convey all client concerns related to design, and make sure that Drawings, Descriptions, Calculations, and are properly coordinated.
• Generate reports and control documents to make sure that all the design stages and steps are transitioning in an accurate and complete way.
• Lead and Coordinate all design meetings required to make sure that the progress of the design is progressing correctly and on time.
• Identify, flag, advise and suggest design improvements to avoid extra cost and execution complexity.
• Support during the bidding process for the Construction works including Q&A stage
• Ensure client’s interests are always secured in respect to the communication with the design teams and contractors.
• Ensure conformity with specifications and agreed brand/design standards. 
• Review and approve materiality.
• Develop presentations in respect to design for client purposes.
• Identify risks/issues related to the design process and propose mitigation actions. 
• Contribute to writing the brand manual- technical standards, FF&E, OS&E etc
