Responsibilities
We are seeking for a Mechanical Engineer, who besides to have strong motivation for technical development and evolvement, will be able to:
- Perform design calculations in the Mechanical Department
- Prepare Material Requisitions for mechanical equipment (Pressure Equipment, Machinery, Packages).
- Prepare material take-offs (MTOs).
- Prepare technical bid evaluations of Vendor offers
- Review and evaluate vendor drawings and documents.
- Prepares technical specifications for pressure vessels, tanks, machinery and packages.
- Performs engineering calculations for dimensioning and design of pressure vessels and atmospheric storage tanks.
- Prepares equipment mechanical data sheets.
- Coordinates work with other engineering disciplines.
- Performs technical evaluation, bid conditioning and technical alignment of bids.
- Prepares material requisitions for inquiry & purchase.
- Performs vendor’s documents and drawings review.
- Ensures contractual technical specifications are met.
- Ensures timely internal and external reporting on engineering / requisitioning activities to the group leader/Mechanical Discipline Coordinator.
- Ensures that the discipline engineering deliverables are compliant with project QHSE plan and discipline engineering processes & standards.
- Ensures contractual technical specifications are met by the suppliers.
- Adheres to the maintenance of the project schedule, company quality standards, all contractual requirements and execution plan.
- Works towards development and training.
- Provides assistance to Mechanical Discipline Head in various discipline activities.
- Interfaces with other discipline specialist engineers and possibly provides project support function.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (five years studies).
- Relevant experience in a similar role related to Oil & Gas Projects and detailed engineering in the field of Instrumentation engineering of at five (5) (preferably within a major engineering company) will be considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of international codes & standards, international design guidelines & recommendations (like ASME, ISO, PED, API, ASTM, NACE, DIN, EN etc).
- Knowledge of performing basic calculations and preparation of mechanical data sheets for mechanical equipment.
- Knowledge of developing and follow-up of Material Requisitions for static (pressure vessels, atmospheric tanks etc.) and/or rotating equipment (pumps, compressors etc.) as well as packages.
You are someone with:
- Ability to liaise with the other engineering disciplines, assisting them during detail engineering.
- Experience using relevant mechanical design commercial software applicable to mechanical engineering (like AutoCAD, PV Elite, AutoPipe Vessel, Tank etc) will be considered an advantage.
- Be able to work in a team environment and handle multiple project responsibilities.
- Willingnes to work in a national and international environment.
- Previous exposure to international environment will be considered an advantage.
- Mobility is desirable to participate in working teams at project home offices throughout the countries where EPC projects are executed.
- Excellent command in English (written and spoken)
The Mechanical Engineer will report to the Mechanical Head.
