Profile
The ideal candidate will report to the Head of Credit Control and be responsible for monitoring customer accounts, ensuring timely collections, and minimizing credit risk while maintaining strong client relationships.
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will report to the Head of Credit Control and be responsible for monitoring customer accounts, ensuring timely collections, and minimizing credit risk while maintaining strong client relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage credit exposure for wholesale traders, distributors and industrial clients, ensuring timely payments and minimizing overdue balances.
- Assess and approve credit limits for clients engaged in high-value transactions, considering financial analysis and industry-specific risks.
- Oversee fuel supply agreements and credit terms, ensuring alignment with company policies and risk management strategies.
- Handle collections, follow up on outstanding invoices, and negotiate payment terms with key accounts.
- Communicate effectively with clients over the phone to ensure prompt resolution of outstanding balances, particularly with shipping companies, refineries, and suppliers.
- Work closely with the Sales, Finance and Logistics teams to mitigate credit risks and ensure seamless deliveries.
- Prepare and analyze customer credit reports, aging reports and exposure analyses to identify potential risks.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, industry credit policies and contract terms.
- Maintain accurate records of credit activities and provide regular updates to management on credit risk and cash flow forecasts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- 2+ years of experience in credit control in a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of SoftOne ERP.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent command of the English language (written & verbal).
- Strong organizational skills, discipline, and teamwork mentality.
- Excellent communication skills for effective customer interactions.
- High level of work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
