For our Headquarters located in Athens City Centre we are looking for a FINANCIAL CONTROLLER for Greece & Cyprus who will report to the Finance Manager
The position, within the Finance Department, will support the Management and will be responsible for the collection, consolidation and analysis of data related to the economic and financial performance of both Countries.
Key Accountabilities:
- Management of the budget, forecast, and business plan process
- Drafting of periodic reports on the economic and financial trends of the countries' businesses
- Critical and in-depth analysis of variances and economic performance of business lines by constantly liaising with the business
- Preparation of presentations for the analysis at countries and HQ levels
- Preparation of corporate structure cost analysis, production of monthly and annual forecast reports, and financial models
- Support to Accounting Department in accounting activities, including monthly reconciliations, accruals, and the preparation of financial statements in accordance with local and international accounting standards (IFRS or local GAAP)
- Assist in auditing processes and preparation for internal and external audits
Qualifications and Competencies required:
- Previous experience in the role of 3-5 years, preferably within Retail companies or consulting firms in the financial sector (Big Four)
- Solid background in accounting and financial management with a good understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Experience in overseeing financial closing processes, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded, and ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Mathematics/Statistics
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Fluent in English (oral and written)
- Knowledge of SAP is a plus
- Results-oriented, pragmatic, fast-paced, working with clarity and method in data management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail in financial reporting and reconciliation
