The role:
We are seeking a Data Engineer with expertise in data automation, infrastructure management, and analytics to join our team. This role requires a blend of data engineering, automation, and DevOps skills, ensuring the seamless operation of our data pipelines, workflows, and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Automation & Analysis
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Automate data workflows using Apache Airflow DAGs.
- Ensure efficient data modeling, transformation, and optimization for analytics.
- Work with SQL, Python, and visualization tools (Looker, QlikSense, PowerBI) to support business insights.
- Ability to breakdown complex processes and optimize where possible as well us solution design.
- Ability to read and make sense of data and perform analysis on trends.
Infrastructure & DevOps
- Manage and maintain servers, cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure), and containerized applications.
- Deploy and optimize Dockerized applications for data processing.
- Own the setup, monitoring, and scaling of Apache Airflow instances.
- Ensure high availability, security, and performance of data infrastructure.
Application Deployment & Support
- Load and manage applications on Docker and Airflow.
- Collaborate with data analysts to ensure data accessibility and reliability.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and pipeline issues, optimizing performance.
Requirements
Desired Skills & Experience:
● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
● 4 years of experience in data engineering or similar roles
● Strong experience in SQL and Python.
● Expertise in Docker, Airflow, Streamlit and cloud-based infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure).
● Exceptional numerical and analytical abilities
● Independent problem solving and strong attention to detail.
Nice to have:
● Master’s Degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or related discipline.
● Desire to learn and understand business concepts / new ideas.
● Experience working effectively with data processing and engineering teams.
● Travel industry experience is a plus
