We are seeking an IT Systems Support Specialist to join the American School of Classical Studies at Athens (ASCSA), a world-renowned research institution with a mission to advance the study of Greek history and archaeology.

About Us

• Innovative Research Facilities: Our state-of-the-art laboratory specialize in advanced studies of bones and scientific methods that provide new insights into philology, classical studies, and history.
• Exceptional Resources: Two extensive libraries and archives featuring archaeological collections, photographic materials, and personal papers of leading Greek historical and cultural figures from the 19th and 20th centuries.
• Distinguished Excavations: The Ancient Agora and Ancient Corinth excavation sites, utilizing cutting-edge technology and digital archaeology techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide IT support at the Athenian Agora staff and the ASCSA main Building.
• Manage and maintain IT devices, including networking and configurations for field operations.
• Diagnose and resolve software, hardware, and network issues for end-users.
• Ensure the maintenance and security of IT systems (desktops, laptops, mobile devices, Wi-Fi, LAN/VPN).
• Support database systems (FileMaker, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive).
• Collaborate on IT projects and initiatives as assigned by the IT Manager.

Essential Requirements

• Strong knowledge of macOS, iOS, Windows, and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with database systems (MySQL, FileMaker, PostgreSQL) and Microsoft 365.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.

Qualifications

• Required: TEI/AEI or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience: 2-4 years in IT support, including hardware maintenance, desktop/laptop configuration, and networking principles (LAN, Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Azure).
• Desired: Programming skills (e.g., Python, Java/JavaScript, PHP).
