As an engineer, do you want to be involved in projects from design to delivery and make an impact in the aerospace and steel construction sector? Are you looking for an international working environment where you not only design, but also have customer contact and make technical decisions? Does a versatile role with plenty of room for innovation and independence sound good to you? Then apply now at NIJL BV and make a difference!
Your role
As lead engineer, you are involved in projects from basic design to delivery. The scope varies from small projects to large multi-million dollar projects. Clients are mostly demanding international companies working in the aviation, rail and power & process industries. They work with international standards and high quality standards.
You have a broad range of tasks in which you technically set the lines within the projects. You work together with the engineering manager, project manager, other engineers and colleagues from sales, purchasing and production. In this position, you will report to the engineering manager.
Your projects
Projects are transferred from sales to the project team you are part of during a kick-off meeting. You study all documentation, such as technical specifications and specific customer requirements. You translate these into (structural and mechanical) calculations and technical concepts in 3D. Technically, you set out the broad outlines and make the technical decisions within the project.
The engineers within the project team then get to work on 3D models, calculations and technical documentation. Large steel structures are drawn in Tekla, smaller structures in Solid Works. You check your colleagues' drawings and technical documentation against the standards and specific customer requirements. You also monitor milestones and budgets within the engineering phase. You are the technical point of contact for colleagues, customers and suppliers.
Depending on your ambitions and capabilities, you will visit customers and suppliers in The Netherlands and abroad several times a year, independently or together with a colleague, to give presentations or coordinate projects.
