About the role
There is currently a job opening for “Occupational Health & Safety Specialist” in our Environmental, Health & Safety Department. In this position, you will play a key role in overseeing and maintaining AEGEAN’s Health and Safety Program. What you will do:
- Provide strategic guidance on all occupational health and safety matters, ensuring full compliance with national regulations and AEGEAN’s internal safety management system
- Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards, particularly in high-risk areas such as aircraft lifting, hazardous material handling, and confined space entry, and implement corrective measures to mitigate risks
- Develop, update, and maintain standardized safety procedures in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements
- Design and deliver comprehensive safety training programs, procedures and material to enhance employee awareness and compliance
- Plan and execute emergency response drills, including fire safety, evacuations, and first-aid training, ensuring employees are well-prepared for emergencies
- Lead investigations into safety incidents or near-misses, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Monitor workplace conditions, identify unsafe practices or hazards, and enforce proactive safety measures to enhance overall safety standards
- Stay up to date with national and industry regulations to ensure company procedures are fully aligned with legal requirements
You fit, if you cover the following requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or in a relevant field
- 2-4 years of working experience in an OHS role or a similar technical field
- Fluency in both oral and written Greek and English
- Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
And you have competence in:
- Working collaboratively
- Thinking in a structured and analytical way
- Negotiating and managing conflict
- Demonstrating attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Handling confidential information by demonstrating high sense of professionalism
