In this crucial position, you will lead the architectural design, creation of innovative generative models and distributed deployment of a digital assistant platform, that aims to tackle complex business challenges in several verticals. About us
I-SENSE is the biggest research group of the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) of the National Technical University of Athens. ICCS is ranked in the top list of European Research Institutes. It is active in several Scientific and Research Areas, including Connected Cooperative Automated Mobility (CCAM), Circular Economy & Tracing, Intelligent Networks & Services, Earth Observation and Environmental Monitoring, Smart Mobility, Multimodal Logistics and Maritime Operations, Crisis Management and Secure Societies, Industry 5.0 & Smart Manufacturing, Health technologies and Extended Reality.
We are a self-funded research group of ~160 people, highly experienced in EU-funded research. We are participating in several groups leading research, policy and industry in the fields of Intelligent Transportation Systems, Logistics, Data & Digital economy, Robotics, Networks etc. These memberships allow regular exchanges of information within the scientific community and industry and are key to maintaining our focus towards delivering excellent research aligned with societal needs.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and deploy generative AI models utilizing state-of-the-art techniques, such as GPT, VAE, and GANs
- Develop and maintain AI pipelines, including data preprocessing, feature extraction, model training, and evaluation
- Optimize generative AI models for improved performance, scalability, and efficiency
- Develop clear documentation, e.g. technical specifications, user guides and presentations, to communicate complex AI concepts to technical and business actors
- Work with development teams and the product owner to ideate AI software solutions
- Manage the complete software development process from conception to deployment
- Stay up to date on emerging Generative AI technologies
Required Skills
- BSC or Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Working experience with NLP of LLMs, ChatGPT (GPT-3, GPT-4), Open Source LLM Models (ex: LLama 2, Llama 3, Mistral), Generative AI, RAG; Previous work on commercial AI products will be considered a plus
- Experience in open-source frameworks, such as Keras, Tensor Flow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn
- Experience with source version control systems like SVN, Git
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Nice-to-have Skills
- Knowledge of distributed computing technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka)
- Modern software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, etc.
- Prior work in container management with Docker and Kubernetes.
