The Role of Bartender: 

The Bartender is an essential member of the Food & Beverage team dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to our guests. This position provides hotel guests and servers with quick and efficient beverage service with a complete working knowledge of all products served by the bar.

Our Ideal Bartender will:

  • Provide an enjoyable, expertly served beverage or dining experience conforming to hotel’s standards of excellence for quality, professionalism and friendliness.
  • Prepare and serve a selection of wines, spirits, and mixed drinks from the menu while ensuring proper pouring, mixing, and blending.
  • Confirm guest orders including any special needs or requests from the lounge server using the hotel’s point-of-sales system; check completed orders with the guest’s original order.  
  • Take orders from guests seated at the bar and lounge area offering interesting, and vivid descriptions of each item’s, origin, taste, and preparation methods; maintains a working knowledge of liquors, wines, beets, ports, Armagnac, eau de vies, cognacs and specialty drinks.
  • Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
  • Prepare and present bills accurately and perform all duties related to bar closing shifts.
  • Maintain the appropriate levels of beverage stocks by monitoring purchases and sales, ensuring professional, efficient and accurate service of all types of beverage following the recipes in standards, in order to completely satisfy our guests during their experience.
  • Ensure that the cellar is kept stocked, clean and in the appropriate operational order at all times.
  • Monitor that the bar equipment and wine basket, decanters and ice bucket with stands are kept clean and in order.
  • Perform additional service side duties when needed.
  • Greet and seat guests in a professional manner and take reservations, when needed, conforming to Relais & Chateaux standards.
  • Assist in setting and clearing tables neatly, rapidly and completely according to specification.
  • Assist in the breakdown, cleaning and set-up of and bar & food stations. 

Requirements: 
•    A minimum of two years food service experience in a similar role.
•    Excellent interpersonal skills, an outgoing personality and a can-do approach to any request.
•    Creativity, initiative and team work approach is required.
•    Extensive knowledge of drink mixing and garnishing.
•    Proficiency in using POS 
•    Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the Greek and English language.
