The French Institute - French School of Thessaloniki (IFT) is recruiting an Accounting Clerk for a full-time non-permanent fixed-term position to replace an employee on maternity leave, starting on 26 August 2024.
The IFT is a non-profit institution responsible for promoting French culture, offering French language courses and exams as well as a French-language schooling pathway from kindergarten to high school.
Applications are invited from college graduates of schools of economics (AEI-TEI) and experienced accountant (a minimum of 5 years accounting experience is required). Experience in a school or other educational structure will be valued.

Under the authority of the administrative and financial director of the establishment, the responsibilities of the Accounting Clerk are as follows:
- Follow the daily accounting operations;
- Processing bank entries, purchases, accounts receivable in French and Greek software;
- Managing expenses, preparing accounts payable and processing payments;
- Follow-up of client and debtor accounts, accounting reconciliations;
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly and annual closing;
- Obtaining quotes and dealing with suppliers;
- Administrative follow-up and documents requested by the Greek authorities;
- Filing and archiving of all accounting documents.
Prerequisites
- Degree in Economics (AEI-TEI).
- 5 years experience in accounting.
- The successful candidate will need to be organized, proactive and have the ability to work with many different departments.
- In addition to the Greek language, fluency in English is a prerequisite; fluency in French would be an asset.
- Mastery of office automation tools, in particular Word and Excel, is an essential prerequisite.
