Job Summary
A Revenue Accountant manages a company's revenue transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. They support financial forecasting and reporting, contributing to strategic decisions by providing insights into the company's performance. Their role ensures proper revenue recognition and maintains the integrity of financial statements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Management of financial accounting policies and procedures related to revenue recognition and internal controls.
- Reconciling Revenue Accounts to ensure integrity of the financial statements both in terms of Income and Tax on Revenue.
- Perform technical accounting review to ensure proper revenue recognition under USALI.
- Performing detailed revenue analysis and reporting findings.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations and timely recording or revenue transactions.
- Conducting regular Income Audits to ensure all source of Revenue of all Resort’s outlets comply with Internal Policy.
- Assist operations to improve performance while complying with internal financial procedures.
- Handle electronic books (myDATA).
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns (CIT, VAT, other).
- Assist in the preparation of Financial Statements.
- Actively participating in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of journal entries and supporting documentation.
- Engage in tax reporting processes (Greek GAAP, IFRS).
- Liaise with all business functions for various accounting & tax issues.
- Collaborating with sales and legal teams to review contracts for revenue implications.
- Seeking opportunities to develop your own expertise by taking on greater responsibility and/or more technically demanding tasks
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of all tax obligations, manage payment of liabilities, and perform month-end processes with control over accounting records.
Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, or Accounting & Finance
- Master’s degree in taxation or other Professional Qualification will be considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition and accounting principles.
- Ability to analyze large amounts of financial data.
- Experience in Hospitality industry is mandatory
- Experience in MyData
- Knowledge in OPERA, Micros Simphony.
- Strong verbal and writing skills both in English & in Greek
- A confident and positive attitude, focused on teamwork and communication with colleagues at all levels.
