The Role
We are seeking a highly capable, hands-on Accountant to take full ownership of the finance function in Greece. This is not your typical corporate accounting role—this is for someone ready to roll up their sleeves, adapt daily, and grow with the company. You'll manage everything from bookkeeping to budgeting, cash flow to compliance, while working closely with our founders and project teams.
Key Responsibilities

Full-cycle accounting : Manage daily bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, payments, and journal entries.

Financial reporting : Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

Tax compliance : Ensure timely and accurate VAT, income tax, and ENFIA filings.

Payroll : Collaborate with payroll providers and ensure compliance with Greek labor laws.

Liaison with government agencies , including:

AADE (Independent Authority for Public Revenue)

IKA/EFKA (Social Insurance Institutions)

GEMI (General Commercial Registry)

Taxisnet for tax and filing submissions

Budgeting & forecasting : Support cash flow management and budget tracking for residential projects.

Audit & external stakeholders : Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel.

Process development : Implement financial processes and controls in a start-up environment.

Ad-hoc tasks : Be ready to help wherever needed—from assisting with property registrations to supporting investor reporting.
What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

2-3+ years of experience in Greek accounting and tax compliance

Deep knowledge of Greek GAAP, VAT, payroll, and local reporting standards

Familiarity with real estate development or construction is a plus

Tech-savvy with experience using accounting software (e.g., SoftOne, EpsilonNet, or similar)

Fluency in Greek and strong working proficiency in English

Highly organised, proactive, and fast-paced

Able to work independently and wear multiple hats
