Among the various industries we recruit for, we are exclusively retained to find an Accounting & Tax Manager on behalf of a client – a leading retail company. 

Αbout the role

The Accounting & Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial reporting process, managing the daily operations of the accounting department, and ensuring accurate and timely submission of financial statements. A core part of the role involves ensuring compliance with all tax-related obligations, managing the tax function (including VAT, WHT, Income Tax, and Transfer Pricing), and handling tax and statutory audits. This role also includes the preparation of monthly and quarterly management reports as required by the parent company.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily operations of the accounting department
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports and statements
• Supervise the month-end and year-end closing processes
• Lead the preparation of monthly and quarterly management reports for the parent company
• Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations (VAT, WHT, Income Tax, Transfer Pricing)
• Identify and mitigate potential tax risks and exposures
• Manage and coordinate tax audits and provide support for statutory audits
• Evaluate and improve internal accounting and reporting procedures
• Support the implementation of new financial systems and tools

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA or equivalent professional certification is a plus
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and tax roles, with a proven track record in leading finance teams
• Strong knowledge of Greek tax legislation and financial reporting standards
• Prior exposure to SAP ERP is beneficial but not required
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
• Proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting tools
