SPA Manager (Season '25)

Ella Resorts is a newly established hospitality management company, boasting a collection of eco-chic hospitality properties. In 2024, Ella Resorts will be operating a portfolio of 7 lifestyle & family resorts on the islands of Rhodes, Corfu & Crete, offering exceptional quality and service excellence. In order to support our rapid growth we are seeking to hire an experienced and visionary SPA Manager.

Position Summary

Our new SPA Manager will be the ambassador of our Service Excellence Culture at our fully renovated resort in Corfu, opening its doors for the season 2025. She/he will be responsible for supervising and developing the SPA Team, and providing high quality services and memorable experiences to our guests. The SPA Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the Wellness operations within the resort, ensuring excellent customer service and department profitability while maintaining the safety and quality standards.

Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Operations

    • Lead and oversee all aspects of the Spa and Fitness operations.
    • Ensure the SOPs are adhered to, updated and suggest alterations when necessary.
    • Maintain high standards of services with attention to detail.
    • Ensure the compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
    • Ensure the team’s compliance with Presentation and Service standards.
    • Ensure that financial controls, including the auditing of all financial transactions, are in place and adhered to.
    • Maintain operational status and impeccable presentation of the spa and fitness facilities through regular walkthroughs. Liaise with relevant departments to immediately report and resolve any issues.  Ensure hygiene, quality, safety and correct operation of the facilities and machinery.
    • Liaise with all relevant departments for the day to day needs of the Wellness facilities.
    • Create the working schedules of the staff, regularly review and modify according to needs.
    • Attend daily hotel operational meetings and weekly departmental meetings with the Spa Director

Guest Service

    • Interact with all spa guests, greet, welcome them and make sure they receive a personalized experience that exceeds their expectations.  
    • Develop a dynamic presence within the resort’s outlets, interact with the hotel guests in a pleasant and professional manner, be the ambassador of the wellness offering throughout the resort.
    • Actively attend to and resolve any complaints, follow up and reverse any negative experiences.
    • Personally attend to VIPs.

Leadership

    • Conduct interviews and recruit the wellness team. 
    • Provide trainings to wellness employees, such as SOPs, service and grooming standards.
    • Coach, encourage and motivate the team, identify high achievers and provide development opportunities. 
    • Conduct the personnel’s annual performance reviews and set their development plans. 
    • Conduct daily briefings with the spa team to discuss daily goals and timely attend to any matters that arise.
    • Foster a co-operative, diverse and inclusive environment and maintain open communication channels.

Financial

    • Achieve agreed commercial targets through establishing strategies for active and appropriate promotion of the wellness services and retail items.
    • Monitor the financial performance, make monthly reforecasting of revenues and expenses.
    • Set daily financial targets for the wellness team. Coach and train them to upsell and promote the wellness offering.
    • Work closely with Guest Service and Front Office departments to promote the wellness services and facilities.
    • Identify opportunities to maximize profit, occupancy and resources utilization.
    • Perform inventories, control stock levels, perform purchase orders according to business demand.
    • Control labor and operating expenses to meet the department’s budgetary goals. 
    • Organize and execute promotional events to increase spa awareness and revenues.
    • Prepare reports for the General Manager and Spa Director


Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Spa Management, Aesthetics, Physiotherapy or related field.
    • Previous experience as a Spa Manager in 5-star luxury properties.
    • EU citizen passport
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language. A second language will be considered a plus.
    • Computer literacy, including Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Atlantis spa software is desirable.
    • Technical knowledge of a wide variety of spa treatments.
    • Familiarity with Service Standards (e.g. LQA, Forbes).
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Leadership and supervisory skills
    • Focus on sales and achieving financial budgets
