Job Summary:

The Makeup Artist at our  MAC retail store is responsible for providing professional makeup services to customers, enhancing their natural beauty, and offering expert advice on products. This role requires a creative and skilled individual with a passion for makeup artistry and a deep understanding of beauty products and trends. The Makeup Artist will also play a key role in driving sales by promoting and recommending products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Makeup Application:
• Provide personalized makeup consultations and applications for consumers.
• Create makeup looks for special occasions, everyday wear, and specific customer needs.
• Stay up to date with the latest beauty trends and techniques to offer cutting-edge makeup services.
• Customer Service:
• Deliver exceptional customer service by understanding and addressing customer needs.
• Educate customers on proper makeup application techniques and skincare routines.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve any concerns professionally and courteously.
• Sales and Product Promotion:
• Recommend and promote store products based on customer preferences and skin types.
• Achieve individual sales targets by driving product sales through makeup services.
• Participate in in-store events, promotions, and product launches to attract customers.
• Product Knowledge:
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of the store’s cosmetic and skincare products.
• Keep updated on new product launches, formulations, and brand innovations.
• Educate customers and team members on the benefits and features of various products.
• Merchandising:
• Ensure that the makeup station is clean, organized, and fully stocked with necessary products and tools.
• Assist in maintaining product displays, ensuring they are visually appealing and aligned with store standards.
• Monitor inventory levels of makeup products and tools and report any shortages to the store manager.
• Training and Development:
• Stay current with industry trends, attending training sessions and workshops as required.
• Share knowledge with other team members to help them improve their product knowledge and sales techniques.
• Health and Safety:
• Implement hygiene and sanitation guidelines, ensuring that all makeup tools and products are cleaned and sanitized after each use.
• Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for customers and staff.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Certification or diploma in Makeup Artistry
• Experience:
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a makeup artist, preferably in a retail environment.
• Experience with a variety of makeup techniques and familiarity with different skin types and tones.
• Skills:
• Excellent makeup application skills, with the ability to create a variety of looks.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Knowledge of cosmetic products, ingredients, and skincare routines.
• Sales-oriented mindset with the ability to recommend products and meet sales targets.
• Familiar with Social Media Platforms
