On behalf of our client, ELPEDISON, we are looking to recruit an Energy Management Portfolio Engineer.

ELPEDISON, with its two privately-owned power plants in Thisvi (Voiotia )and Thessaloniki, with a total installed capacity of 820 MW, uses natural gas as fuel and ensures a clean and continuous electricity flow, based on a highly environmentally-friendly power generation process.
The position
We are currently looking for an Energy Management Portfolio Engineer to secure the participation of the company’s portfolio in the spot markets (Natural Gas & Power) in an efficient, transparent, and compliant to the current legislation manner.
Main Duties / Responsibilities
- Execute Short-term Forecasting by analyzing market data and running simulations
- Execute the company’s sales Strategy of the wholesale Day Ahead/Intraday/Balancing Power Markets
- Monitor the real time marketplace for optimal reaction, according to operational business constraints
- Be responsible for all aspects within the real-time trading environment by conducting hourly purchase and sales transactions in an optimal and economical manner
- Monitor results of dispatch operations and suggests/implements improvement opportunities
- Monitor the contractual arrangements associated with power plants operation, Natural Gas and electricity market conditions relevant to the short-term wholesale Market
- Develop scenarios to better understand how key drivers will affect, Day Ahead / Intraday/ Balancing markets outcomes
- Produce daily/weekly/monthly reports on market results, trends and statistics
- Communicate all necessary information to appropriate internal and external parties/personnel
- Investigate and make improvements to market models and algorithms
- Work rotating shifts of 8 hours, including night shifts, weekends and holidays and be on-call
Requirements
- BSc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Applied Economics
- Master’s degree will be a plus
- 2-3 years relevant working experience within Electric Power sector
- In-depth working knowledge of Statistics & Technical Analysis
- MS Office (preferably excel), Modelling skills with a focus on VBA
- Excellent knowledge of the English language
- Strong analytical skills, ability to understand business situations and provide data analysis
- Self-motivation, ability to exercise initiative and quick on the uptake
