The University of Nicosia invites applications for the role of Director, Facilities Management for our upcoming Athens campus. This pivotal position offers a unique opportunity to shape and manage a state-of-the-art educational environment. The successful candidate will lead the facilities operations, oversee construction and renovation projects, and ensure the efficient and economical management of campus facilities in alignment with the university's commitment to excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management:
- Lead and coordinate construction and renovation projects for the Athens campus, in collaboration with the Nicosia-based Facilities Management team
- Interface with architects, advisors, construction firms, and other stakeholders to ensure projects meet quality, budget, and timeline objectives.
- Oversee planning, design, and execution phases, ensuring adherence to university standards and regulatory requirements.
- Facilities Management:
- Develop and implement comprehensive facilities management strategies.
- Supervise facilities staff, including maintenance personnel, custodial staff, and external contractors.
- Ensure all campus facilities are maintained to high standards of safety, functionality, and sustainability.
- Operational Efficiency:
- Optimize facilities operations to achieve cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
- Manage budgets related to facilities and construction projects, implementing cost-saving initiatives where possible.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators to track efficiency and effectiveness.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all facilities comply with local, regional, and national regulations and codes.
- Implement and oversee health and safety protocols for both construction sites and ongoing campus operations.
- Promote a culture of safety and sustainability among staff and contractors.
- Strategic Planning:
- Contribute to long-term planning to support the university's mission and objectives.
- Stay informed about emerging trends in facilities management, smart technologies, and sustainable practices to enhance campus operations.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to support educational and institutional goals.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the university and external partners related to facilities and construction.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- A Master's degree or relevant professional certification is preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in facilities management, construction project management, or a related area.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale facilities operations and construction projects.
- Experience in implementing smart technologies and sustainable practices is a plus.
