We are seeking for a talented and motivated Construction Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Head of Development, the Construction Manager’s role (site based) will be key to the successful delivery of a project for the repositioning of a 1000 key resort hotel.

The construction manager’s role will be to manage and oversee the on-site delivery through the project stages reporting to the client. The role will require the candidate to effectively identify, report and mitigate risks as the project progresses.  

The construction manager will have to liaise with the development department (client), project management and contractor/s where required the role will need to manage change and variations as they arise.

The successful candidate is likely to have 10 years plus experience in construction management positions which could be a form of a project management company or contractor.

Candidate Requirements

• Strong academics in Construction management, Project Management, Development Management, Quantity Surveying, Architecture or civil engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience in a Construction Management role in Real Estate projects.
• Experience in the hospitality sector will be considered a plus.
• Good understanding of all disciplines (Design / Project Management / Cost Control / scheduling).
• Understanding of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance responsibility)
• Ability to manage the project time-schedule and project Capex.
• High level of proficiency in Excel, Power Point
• Ability to delegate tasks to wider professional team and ensure delivery of requirements against deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Strong written/verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively his/her opinions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Self-motivated and proactive with a proven ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Confident in working and addressing unstructured and new situations, taking on new challenges. 
• Positive attitude, capable of contributing to a dynamic and team-oriented culture.
• Proficiency in English and Greek. 
• Demonstrable passion for Development and Real Estate. 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the client representation on site throughout the delivery of the project.
• Monitor the project of the works on site
• Work with the contract administrator and contractor/s for ensuring project delivery
• Monitor of the project Capex and Time-schedule.
• Provide constructions input as to the buildability of intended design solutions.
• Establish a post-construction evaluation. 
• Deliver weekly project updates.
• Contribute in the selection, negotiation and appointment of development consultants and contractors.
• Identify risks/issues and opportunities related to the construction delivery and propose mitigation actions. 
• Ensure effective hand-over between construction and operations.
• Contribute to the development of the business, identifying improvement opportunities and improve efficiencies.
• Liaise with other departments like Operations, Procurement, etc to generate synergies and make sure that all the stakeholders are aligned with the project´s milestones
• Coordinate construction meetings (agenda, materials review, coordination between teams with the PM support), both internals and externals
• Ensure the contractors delivers against brand, quality and ESG standards.
