Solar Technician

Position

As a Solar Technician, you will be part of our Company’s Maintenance Department.

Reporting to Maintenance Manager Solar, you will perform field activities in solar plants in accordance with O&M specifications and requirements.

You will be based in Livadia (Viotia), Greece.

 

Position Status

Full Time, Open-ended Employment Contract depending on candidate’s profile.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

Your daily activities will include, and you will be familiar with:

• Performing preventive, scheduled corrective and unscheduled maintenance of solar assets ensuring the highest level of solar farm availability.
• Faultfinding, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair on all photovoltaic systems, which include mechanical and electrical assemblies.
• Acknowledging faults and performing remote diagnostics and actions via monitoring system.
• Contributing to the fault diagnosis and preparation of the intervention taking into account the monitoring system information and the internal alarm procedures.
• Supervising specialist and contractor activity during maintenance and ensuring work quality at all times.
• Reporting maintenance activity via Service Orders in the CMMS and as required by the internal procedures.
• Reporting findings from the field concerning a potential malfunction by creating a Service Notification.
• Reporting any observation which may have an effect on the performance of the plant to the relevant stakeholders (e.g. BOP).
• Reporting any spare part and consumable use ensuring proper use of logistics principles and procedures.
• Providing support for warehouse activities while ensuring spare part and tool inventories are continuously up-to-date.
• Providing on-call out of hours and weekend response to solar farm breakdown.
• Complying with all health and safety requirements abiding by the law and the Group policy.
• Providing safety induction to contractors and visitors.
• Ensuring minimum impact on the environment from the maintenance activities.
• Contributing to the waste management of all maintenance activities in accordance with internal procedures.
• Managing the maintenance of the assigned service vehicle as well as the inventory and the conformity control of its equipment (pharmacy, fire extinguisher, tools, etc).
• Supporting BOP equipment and wind maintenance works.

 

This list is not exhaustive and can evolve according to the company’s needs. All maintenance activities are performed in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines respecting all health & safety regulations and potential internal procedures of the Company. 

 

Requirements

• Qualification in electrical disciplines up to the level of Technological Educational Institutes (or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience).
• Permit of Electrician – Installer, 4th Group, A’ Specialty is a significant qualification.
• Ideally one (1) year of working experience in the industry.
• Demonstrated ability in clear written and oral communication and comprehension in English (Level B1).
• Good level of computer literacy.
• Working knowledge and excellent understanding of industrial safety practices/protocols.
• High level of physical fitness and good health:
• Lift, push, pull and carry weights according to OSHA standards.
• Manual manipulation and gripping according to OSHA standards.
• Stand, walk, bend, stoop and kneel for prolonged periods.
• Hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity and repetitive motions such as twisting with wrists.
• Good listening and hearing skills with ability to use close-range radios.
• Possess strong depth perception and field of vision, including ability to distinguish colors.
• Work in confined spaces with diverse environmental conditions.
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Proficient operation and use of power tools and equipment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Fulfilled Military Services (for male candidates).
