The company offers the opportunity to those who wish to express interest in the position of ‘Coordinator - Database & QAQC’ – ‘Συντονιστής/ρια - Βάσης Δεδομένων & Διασφάλιση/Έλεγχος Ποιότητας (QA/QC)’, for its premises in Chalkidiki. The position will be reported to the Senior Geologist - Resource & Research of the Technical Services department in Skouries.
Main Responsibilities:
· Ensure back up of all Geology data and establish and maintain Geology digital filing structure.
· Integrate existing spatial and geological data from drilling, mapping and resource projects for use in GIS and mine planning applications.
· Ensure effectiveness of Geology digital mapping system, establishing procedures and monitoring performance.
· Maintain database entry and query forms; create new forms and data capture objects as needs evolve.
· Maintain adequate data back-up procedures to ensure the security of the databases at all times.
· Provide technical training and support related to implementation and utilization of new data capture technologies.
· Coordinate and review implementation of sampling QA/QC processes.
· Interface with on- and off-site laboratories to ensure effectiveness.
· Conduct QA/QC analysis on all laboratory assay data with prompt action to flag and resolve issues as needed.
· Complete routine laboratory walk-throughs and quarterly audits to ensure integrity of samples.
· Clean and migrate external datasets to the input into a coherent data model as required.
· Provide guidance to geologists and other database users in the management, visualization and presentation of the related data.
· Ensure the validation scripts are in place and kept up to date and are aligned with protocol requirements.
· Assist the various database users with permissions and access rights and ensure the database lookup lists are current. Control security permissions and remove old users from the lists.
Requirements:
· Degree qualifications (BSc and/or MSc) in Geology or a related discipline
· At least 2 years’ experience in the operation and management of geological data and databases.
· At least 2 years’ experience as a geologist in the Mining sector.
· Strong knowledge of geological & database software (Deswik, Leapfrog, AcQuire, etc.) along with SQL, and working experience with AcQuire database software.
· Ability to program and design database scripts and queries.
· Knowledge of database management and QA/QC practices
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word)
· Must have strong analytical skills with an ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
· Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
· Driving License.
