The company offers the opportunity to those who wish to express interest in the position of ‘Geotechnical Engineer - UG’ | ‘Γεωτεχνικός Μηχανικός - Υπόγειο’, for its premises in Chalkidiki. The position will be reported to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer of the Technical Services department in Skouries.
Main Responsibilities:
· Conduct geotechnical investigations and analyses for underground mining projects.
· Assess underground excavation and structure stability.
· Design and implement ground support systems to ensure safety.
· Develop and manage geotechnical monitoring systems, databases, and block models.
· Analyze geological and geotechnical data for decision-making.
· Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize mine design and efficiency.
· Prepare technical reports and presentations on geotechnical evaluations.
· Ensure compliance with regulations, safety, and environmental standards.
· Maintain Ground Control Management Plans and Mine Design documentation.
· Investigate and report geotechnical incidents, such as falls of ground or unexpected conditions.
· Support safety policies, initiatives, and directives from the Chief Geotechnical Engineer.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in mining, geotechnical or geological engineering or similar related field.
· A post graduate degree would be considered a strong asset.
· 2-3 years in hard rock mining operations.
· Operational experience would be an asset.
· Strong knowledge of geotechnical analysis software and tools.
· Experience with ground support systems, ground stability evaluation, and risk assessment.
· Proficient in using geotechnical software and modelling tools (Rocscience modules, and Deswik) databases and MS Office.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
· Effective communication and attention to detail.
· Familiarity with relevant regulations and industry standards in mining operations.
· Very good verbal and written communication skills in English.
· Driving License.
