Antipollution, member of Vasileiadis Group of Companies (V Group), is seeking for a Financial Controller who will be responsible for overseeing the financial reporting functions of the company.
V Group is aprivately owned corporation headquartered in Piraeus – Greece, with a significant presence in Eastern Mediterranean, Egypt and the Balkans operating in six main business pillars including Port Reception Facilities, Emergency Response Services, Decontamination Services, Renewable Energy Sources, Alternative Fuel Production from waste and Technology. The role is full-time and permanent, based in Piraeus Tower.
Financial Controller
Role Summary:
The Financial Controller leads the company's financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes. Responsible for evaluating financial performance, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and enhancing financial efficiency through process improvements and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Analysis: Perform variance, trend analysis, and financial modeling. Provide insights to guide decision-making.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial reports and statements. Ensure compliance with standards.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate on budgeting, maintain financial models, and explain variances.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to long-term financial plans, scenario analysis, and support strategic initiatives.
- Data Management: Consolidate and analyze data while ensuring accuracy in reporting.
- Collaboration: Work across teams to gather insights and address business challenges.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Handle special projects, provide financial support, and respond to management inquiries.
- Process Improvement: Streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and stay updated with accounting changes.
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; Master's degree and professional qualification (ACCA, CFA, CPA) will be considered an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in progressively responsible financial roles.
- Proficiency in reporting, financial analysis, forecasting, and modelling using spreadsheets, financial software and BI Tools.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to provide strategic financial insights and interpret complex financial data.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, problem-solving ability and presentation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (experience in Entersoft will be considered a plus) and proficiency in financial software.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills – Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
