We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Restaurant Captain to join our team for the upcoming 2025 season (April-October). In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily operations of our restaurant, ensuring that guests receive outstanding service. You will lead the waitstaff, manage reservations, and maintain the overall ambiance and efficiency of the dining environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, a strong attention to detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcoming guests with a genuine smile, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Assisting guests with the table booking process.
  • Monitoring booking platforms and having excellent knowledge of its management.
  • Assisting guests with seating.
  • Assisting with transactions and orders and resolving any issues at Point of Sales or PDAs.
  • Taking orders accurately providing insightful menu suggestions.
  • Interacting with customers to ensure they are satisfied with each meal cycle.
  • Performing shift close at the POS terminal.
  • Ensuring that the team’s waiters adhere to the group’s operating standards and SOPs consistently.
  • Training and coaching the team’s waiters.
  • Maintaining a high standard of personal hygiene and maintaining a clean and tidy work area at all times.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth coordination and timely service.
  • Manage a fast-paced environment, multi-task and adapt to changing customer needs.
  • Excellent knowledge of menus and retail items, demonstrating sales skills.

Requirements: 

  • Proven experience as a Restaurant Captain or in a similar supervisory role preferably in a restaurant of a boutique hotel.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage service guidelines.
  • Experience with POS systems and reservation management software.
  • Ability to handle guest complaints and feedback professionally.
  • Attention to detail and a focus on maintaining high service standards.
  • Ability to train and mentor staff effectively.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
