About the Role
The Deputy General Manager (DGM) plays a key leadership role in supporting the General Manager in overseeing daily operations, optimizing business functions, and driving overall company performance. This role requires a strategic mindset and hands-on involvement in business planning, team coordination, and operational efficiency improvements. The DGM is instrumental in ensuring business growth, profitability, and adherence to industry best practices.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the General Manager in developing key performance goals and monitoring staff performance
- Assisting in creating and implementing strategies for business growth
- Coordinating with departments or units to ensure timely deliverables as per targets
- Assisting in improving internal processes for increased productivity
- Providing oversight for large projects and contributing to performance report analysis
- Supporting budget management and monitoring the financial health of the company
- Overseeing delegated day-to-day operational tasks
- Assisting in maintaining budgets and optimizing expenses
- Helping to establish policies and processes
- Encouraging employees to work productively and develop professionally
- Evaluating and suggesting improvements for operations and financial performance
- Preparing reports and updates for the General Manager and upper Management
- Ensuring staff adherence to health and safety regulations
Requirements
- BSc in Business or a relevant field; MSc is a plus
- Proven experience in a senior management role, such as Deputy General Manager, Operations Manager, or similar position, ideally in the food industry sector
- Strong knowledge of planning and budgeting processes
- Understanding of business processes and functions (finance, HR, procurement,
- production, operations, etc.)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
- A proactive attitude with a focus on supporting strategic objectives
- Business acumen and attention to detail
