The IT Systems & Cloud Support Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive technical support and maintaining the IT infrastructure for the organization, with a focus on supporting staff, members and specialized teams at excavations during the summer at the Agora. This includes managing and networking devices used in various operations like iPads, laptops, and offering support to end-users in both educational and research environments. The role requires close collaboration with users and IT staff to ensure the smooth operation of all technical systems and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide IT support both at the Athenian Agora and at the main campus of the ASCSA.
  • Manage and maintain IT devices, including networking and configuration for specialized field operations.
  • Diagnose and resolve software, hardware, and network issues for end-users.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and security of IT systems, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, Wi-Fi, LAN/VPN, and related applications.
  • Manage with the IT Team and maintain database systems, including FileMaker , MySQL, and PostgreSQL for support and maintenance.
  • Provide support and maintenance with the IT Team for Microsoft 365 central, including Exchange, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Resolve technical incidents and service requests promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Contribute to broader IT projects and initiatives as assigned by the IT Manager.

Essential Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of macOS, iOS, Windows, and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with database systems such as MySQL, FileMaker, and PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and logical thinking.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with users and IT team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Strong listening and diagnostic skills to accurately identify and resolve issues.

Qualifications (mid-level):

  • Required: TEI/AEI or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related IT field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in IT support, including application and infrastructure support.
  • Experience in IT hardware maintenance, including desktop and laptop configuration.
  • Knowledge of networking principles, including LAN, Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, Windows Server Active Directory, and Azure.
  • Desired: Programming skills (e.g., Python, Java/JavaScript, PHP).
