NEUROPUBLIC is seeking a talented Earth Observation Specialist with experience in satellite image processing to join our team. The primary responsibility will be to develop a satellite image processing pipeline in collaboration with other team members. This pipeline will be developed in Python and will focus on orchestrating various image processing libraries and external tools to effectively process satellite imagery. The candidate will actively participate in the ESA project and contribute to its data lake component. After the ESA project, the developer will be integrated into the pool of developers for other similar projects.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop a satellite image processing pipeline in Python.
• Integrate and orchestrate existing libraries and external tools for image processing.
• Work with the team to optimize the pipeline for performance, scalability, and accuracy.
• Contribute to the Data Lake component by implementing image processing workflows for satellite data.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, DevOps engineers, and other software developers.
• Maintain documentation and ensure high-quality, testable code.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Python Developer/ Earth Observation Specialistwith expertise in image processing.
• Demonstrable proficiency in satellite image processing (optical and radar).
• Familiarity with image processing libraries such as GDAL, OpenCV, Rasterio, or similar.
• Familiarity with EO data cubes and STAC.
• Firm understanding of key principles of Remote Sensing and GIS.
• Experience in using geospatial tools like QGIS or ArcGIS is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Python programming, including libraries for numerical analysis (e.g., NumPy, SciPy).
• Experience in integrating and working with external tools or APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerized environments is a plus.
