IT System Administrator / DevOPS (IT2024B)

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or IT system administration,
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and security best practices.
  • Strong expertise in AWS services such as EC2, S3, FSX, Lambda, and Cloudformation.
  • Experience with cybersecurity tools and techniques, including intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, and vulnerability scanning.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Desired Skills

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, CompTIA Network+, CCNA) are a plus.
  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
  • Proven experience with Windows server administration, virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Familiarization with Citrix, NetScaler, Fortigate, Fortiweb, Office 365 is beneficial
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarization with JIRA Software.
  • Knowledge of networking, IP, subnetting, VLANS.

 Main Responsibilities 

  • System Administration: Manage and maintain the company's IT and AWS cloud infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, virtualization platforms, and network devices. Collaborate with development teams to optimize application architecture for cloud deployment
  • Server Configuration and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Network Management: Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs to ensure smooth and secure data transmission.
  • Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures to protect the company's IT systems from unauthorized access, malware, and other cybersecurity threats.
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard critical data and ensure business continuity in the event of system failures or disasters.
  • Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve overall system efficiency and reliability.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures. Generate reports on system performance, security incidents, and compliance status as needed.
  • Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with other IT teams, developers, and stakeholders to support software development, testing, and deployment activities. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to internal users as needed.
