Responsibilities

• Participate in design, development, testing and documentation of embedded systems. This includes coding, reviewing code, debugging, testing, properly documenting code and deliverables, attendance of meetings with internal business & operations stakeholders, clarification of requirements, identification of gaps, thinking beyond your area of expertise and recognition dependencies across the technology stack
• Contribute towards program goals, ensuring schedules are met and deliverables are signed-off in time, scope, and budget
• Evaluate new and existing technologies to propose how they could be applied in new ways to solve problems (incl. pre-development/pre-studies)
• Assist to harmonize processes, tools, and methodologies for the functional workstream including license management and optimization. Ensure continuous maturation of these processes
• Contribute to a healthy local company culture. Embrace company vision, values, and mission. This includes clear, effective, respectful, decisive and persuasive communication in multidisciplinary, distributed teams

Essential skills /Qualifications and experience

• Experience in RF electronics design, including antenna design & simulation, RF measurement, and testing
• 5+ years of experience in PCB design (preferably with Altium)
• 5+ years of experience in analog and digital circuit design
• Proactive problem-solver, eager to identify, take ownership of, and resolve issues
• Hands-on testing & evaluation using a range of test equipment
• Experience with RF circuit simulation tools (e.g., ADS, CST, HFSS)
• Understanding of low-power RF communication protocols (e.g., LoRa, BLE, NB-IoT)
• Experience working with network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes for RF debugging
• Strong ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders on a technical level
• Fluent English communication skills are a must; German is a strong plus
• BSc or MSc in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field

Important skills

• Experience with high-speed PCB design and signal integrity analysis
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance for RF devices (e.g., FCC, CE, ETSI standards)
• Hands-on experience with SMT production processes for electronics
• Expertise in impedance matching, PCB stack-up optimization, and RF shielding techniques
• Knowledge of European Directives (EMC, RED) for product compliance
• Understanding of mechatronic products, including interactions between mechanical design, sensors, and electronics
• Practical experience with STM32 or MSP430 microcontrollers
• Knowledge of C programming in embedded firmware development (experience with the IAR toolchain is a plus)
• Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., pSpice, LTspice) is a plus
• Experience in embedded testing and test automation
• Ability to work with continuous integration and delivery (experience with Azure DevOps and related tools)
• Knowledge of Python is a plus
• Strong test-driven mentality, including test case development, test planning, and experience with testing frameworks
• Proven expertise in product design, development, and testing, including requirements gathering, decomposition, and backlog grooming
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
