We are seeking a Business Functional Analyst to collaborate with stakeholders, gather and analyze business requirements, and translate them into functional specifications. The ideal candidate will work closely with both business and technical teams. Responsibilities include documenting processes, developing specifications, and serving as a key liaison between business and IT teams to ensure proper business needs and requirements are collected, analyzed and translated to functional and technical specifications in a structured manner to properly serve business demand. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders (business, operational, technical teams) through surveys, and workshops for gathering business, functional and non-functional/technical requirements.
- Analyze gathered requirements and ensure clear and concise business requirements.
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and the technical teams. Ensure effective communication and understanding of business needs and requirements.
- Collaborate with solution architects and application specialists to translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements.
- Perform a technical feasibility assessment in collaboration with solution architects, application, system, cloud, and security specialists prior to the commencement of the development phase.
- Ensure that the proposed solutions properly serve business demand and needs.
- Contributes to the preparation of the costing of new business demand, use cases, budget proposals and estimated project workloads relevant to the business area.
- Act as a liaison between the end users, the solution and service team and any third-party regarding software functionality, throughout the development lifecycle.
- Ensure that project related issues are resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner to the business.
- Assist in defining test cases and scenarios based on requirements. Validate that the delivered solution meets the specified criteria.
- Provide training and support to end-users, helping them understand and use the new system effectively.
- Participate in procurement activities (extension, renewal) of SAP licensing scheme based on relevant metrics.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s and/or a Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
- At least 5 years of relevant working experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for identifying and resolving complex business challenges and problems, proposing solutions.
- Strong writing skills to create clear and concise requirement documents and reports.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and end-users.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines whilst delivering high quality outcomes.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools can be advantageous for managing requirements within project timelines.
- Excellent written/verbal business English.
