Responsibilities
- Plan, oversee, control and manage all warehouse operations i.e., inbound transport of raw materials from suppliers, handling of incoming raw materials, optimal storage, picking and internal supply of materials to production department, shipments of final products to customers in Greece and abroad, returns etc.
- Ensure the storage and handling of raw materials and final products takes place in the appropriate conditions and in line with quality and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure inventory levels are appropriate at all times and discrepancies are promptly identified and resolved
- Organize and supervise the annual inventory counts
- Allocate tasks to team members on a daily basis and assist in daily operations as needed
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g. procurement, quality control, production, customer support etc.), to ensure timely and efficient production and shipment of final products to customers as per agreed lead times
- Organize and schedule international shipments, follow-up, communicate with authorities, customs and customers to ensure timely and safe delivery of products. Arrange relevant documentation and all legal and regulatory requirements as needed.
- Arrange local pickups and deliveries as required with company vehicles. Ensure with the team the good state and availability of vehicles.
- Maintain relationships with existing transportation companies and search for potential new collaborations to ensure cost-effective shipments to different locations around the world.
- Utilize ERP information systems in warehousing processes for data input and extracting business information.
- Analyze and keep track of warehouse performance data and metrics to identify improvement areas and drive continuous improvement
- Take initiatives and implement best practices to improve productivity
- Arrange training of the warehouse team as required
- Ensure quality standards, and health and safety measures are properly observed
- Other ad hoc warehousing and logistics activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, engineering, business administration, or a related field
- Master's degree in a relevant subject would be preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar warehouse manager role.
- Experience in a regulated industry, such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, food industry etc, would be preferred.
- Experience in people management is required.
- Strong understanding of warehousing processes and activities, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Very good knowledge of international logistics, shipping and customs regulations, and best practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Proficiency with ERP systems is required
- Excellent analytical skills, as well as organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent knowledge of the English language, spoken and in writing, due to the international exposure of the company.
