The award-winning The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort and The Westin Resort Costa Navarino are seeking for a Host or Hostess dedicated in ensuring perfectness in every detail and customer service, creating memorable experiences, in an excellent working environment. A host / hostess monitors outlet activity and assist in the service, welcoming guests and achieving maximum guest satisfaction. They respond to guests’ queries, in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner and perform opening and closing duties as needed.
Responsibilities
- Prepare reservation list daily and allocate tables according to outlet needs.
- Welcome guests and provide excellent service, maintaining all H&S rules and Brand Standards. Manage guest’s expectations, and attend to their needs, in a proactive and positive manner.
- Ability to manage exigent guests during rush hours, providing the best possible solution, exceeding guests’ expectations. Update guest’s profile information on GXP platform.
- Excellent knowledge of menu, demonstrating selling and upselling skills, as per outlet goals.
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and preserve a clean and tidy work area at all times.
- Communicate special requests from guests to the F&B and culinary team, regarding allergies or specific preferences, to ensure excellent customer service is provided.
- Carry out position allocated tasks during shift and provide a detailed handover at the end of the shift, focusing on continuous improvement on a daily basis.
- Assist in all BOH preparations when necessary, ensuring teamwork and effective communication is maintained.
- Follow all H&S rules, hotel policies, SOPs and Brand Standards at all times. Guide and encourage team to do the same.
- Attend all trainings and seminars provided by the company and continuously remain updated for all trends and market news
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Host / Hostess or in a similar guest service role is preferred.
- High school Diploma / Associate’s Degree (IEK) or two years technical certificate (Tourism& Hospitality industry)
- Speak, write, and converse freely in English. Knowledge of Greek, German and/or Russian language is an advantage.
- Proficiency in using reservation systems and POS software is a plus.
- Good negotiation skills, customer service skills, including selling and upselling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- A warm and welcoming personality, with a professional and well-groomed appearance.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive attitude, a passion for providing excellent guest service, and the ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.
