W Costa Navarino is looking for a Restaurant Manager. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in managing the daily operations of the restaurant, providing supervision, training, and guidance to the team to ensure high-quality service for all guests. They will be responsible for hiring and training staff, as well as effectively managing revenues, stock levels, staffing, rosters, and budget requirements. Adhering to company policies and Brand Standards, the candidate will oversee quality and health and safety audits. Additionally, they will engage with guests, addressing and resolving any issues promptly to enhance the overall dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Manages daily operation requirements during all shifts.
- In charge of updating reservation systems and monitoring daily business upon availability. Coordinate with all parties involved (kitchens, restaurant reservationist etc.)
- Performs daily briefs for the team. Include all necessary daily info, quality & H&S standards, bite size trainings, motivate and encourage the team in a constructive way.
- Responsible for final checks of menus and wine lists in close cooperation with chef, sommelier and other colleagues involved.
- Delivers high quality service to all guests offering memorable experiences at all times.
- Handle guest complaints effectively and follow up with all guests after resolution. Performs guest satisfaction checks and ensures comments are entered in relevant hotel systems (GXP etc) and regularly updates them.
- Ensures departmental training plans are adhered to the company’s guidance and regulations liaising with the L&D department. Responsible for training or organizing training for the team on all daily tasks and other quality and H&S related requirements. Coaches and follows up constantly throughout the season.
- Maintains all company policies and Brand standards, trains, guides and checks that all team members follow them at all times.
- Establishes effective communication and cooperation with all other departments.
- Responsible for managing all revenues, cost of sales, labor costs based on budget and departmental goals.
- Perform daily inspections in Restaurant, Storage areas and equipment to ensure that it is clean, tidy and in proper working order and condition; ensure general cleanliness of floors, fridges and other equipment.
- Organize weekly roster / vacation leaves etc. according to operational needs and company objectives and perform all HR admin tasks (Scan, Leaves, DRs etc.) accurately and in timely manner.
- Follow all H&S rules, hotel policies, SOPs and Brand Standards at all times. Update accordingly when needed. Guide and encourage team to do the same and ensure adherence. Responsible for all Quality and H&S audits for the restaurant. Ensures success and follows up on any missed standards/tasks.
- Attend all trainings and seminars provided by the company and continuously remain updated for all trends and market news. Encourage and empower team to do the same.
Requirements
- A minimum of three to four years in a similar role at a five-star hotel is essential, with one to two years specifically as a Restaurant Manager in an à la carte setting.
- An Associate’s Degree (IEK) or a two-year technical certificate in the Tourism and Hospitality industry is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) is necessary.
- Familiarity with MICROS and POS systems is expected.
- Fluency in English and Greek is mandatory.
- Proven experience in selling and upselling is essential.
- Strong customer service skills are required, along with knowledge of wine and current food trends.
- Ability to multitask and remain flexible in various situations is important.
- Must be able to work effectively under pressure during peak periods and accommodate long or flexible shifts.
- Willingness to reside in Messinia for extended periods or relocate long-term is necessary.
- A guest-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to maximizing guest satisfaction is crucial.
