Costa Navarino is in Messinia in the southwest Peloponnese, in one of the most unspoiled and breathtaking landscapes in the Mediterranean. Navarino Dunes Costa Navarino facilities include 766 bedroom units award winning Anazoe Spa, a 4,000m2 spa & thalassotherapy center, four multi-awarded, signature golf courses, over 20 fine dining venues, 5,000 m2 House of Events and a wide range of sports, such as the “Mouratoglou Tennis Center”, Bayern Munich football academy, Navarino Outdoor and many more.

W Costa Navarino, exclusively for adults and young adults over 12 years old, offers 226 stylish rooms, 2 bedroom suites and 3 bedroom villas with infinity private pools, staged in the Bay of Navarino with stunning Ionian Sea views, The Watersports Center, The Away Spa and gym with a heated 25m-long lap pool, including the new Navarino Agora, an open marketplace with retail, street food, open-air cinema and exciting programming throughout the day and night.

W Costa Navarino is looking for an Executive Sous Chef. The selected candidate will demonstrate culinary expertise by actively performing tasks while leading the kitchen staff and overseeing all food-related functions. They will work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure a consistent, high-quality product is delivered. The candidate must ensure that sanitation and food safety standards are consistently met. Responsibilities include overseeing all food preparation areas, such as banquets, room service, restaurants, bar/lounge, and the employee cafeteria.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage kitchen operations across all outlets, providing direction, guidance, and serving as a role model for the team while ensuring company policies and brand standards are met.
  • Act as the decision-maker in the absence of the Executive Chef, overseeing day-to-day operations, problem-solving, and service recovery to maintain seamless operations.
  • Monitor the quality of raw and cooked food products, ensuring that culinary standards are consistently met, including creating decorative food displays and recognizing superior food quality and presentation.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations, hotel policies, SOPs, and brand standards, while guiding and motivating the team to maintain high operational standards.
  • Oversee customer service, ensuring quality standards are met and guest expectations are exceeded by responding to complaints, special requests, and reviewing guest satisfaction data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with the Cost Control and Procurement teams to manage food costs and ensure efficient use of resources, in line with budget requirements, while addressing dietary restrictions and allergies.


Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as Executive Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine in a 5-star hotel environment.
  • Holds an Associate’s Degree (IEK) or a two-year technical certificate in Culinary Arts.
  • Expertise in management techniques, stock control, supply management, and interpreting business indicators.
  • Proven leadership skills with a strong track record in managing, training, and supervising culinary teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other hospitality-specific software applications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Greek is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrates respect and professionalism, fostering a positive and respectful work environment.
  • Committed team player with a collaborative approach, always supporting colleagues to achieve shared goals.
  • Consistently acts with integrity, honesty, and a positive attitude, building strong relationships.
  • Eager to thrive and grow within a complex, multi-layered, and matrix-managed environment.
  • Capable of working efficiently under pressure during peak periods and flexible shift schedules.
