Costa Navarino is in Messinia in the southwest Peloponnese, in one of the most unspoiled and breathtaking landscapes in the Mediterranean. Navarino Dunes Costa Navarino facilities include 766 bedroom units award winning Anazoe Spa, a 4,000m2 spa & thalassotherapy center, four multi-awarded, signature golf courses, over 20 fine dining venues, 5,000 m2 House of Events and a wide range of sports, such as the “Mouratoglou Tennis Center”, Bayern Munich football academy, Navarino Outdoor and many more.

W Costa Navarino, exclusively for adults and young adults over 12 years old, offers 226 stylish rooms, 2 bedroom suites and 3 bedroom villas with infinity private pools, staged in the Bay of Navarino with stunning Ionian Sea views, The Watersports Center, The Away Spa and gym with a heated 25m-long lap pool, including the new Navarino Agora, an open marketplace with retail, street food, open-air cinema and exciting programming throughout the day and night.

W Costa Navarino is looking for its Executive Pastry Chef. The selected candidate will oversee pastry& bakery operations, collaborate with kitchen teams, and ensure hygiene, safety, and HACCP compliance. They will guide and train staff, manage recipe development and costing, and ensure recipes meet dietary needs. Responsibilities include staff recruitment, preparing manning and budgets, and maintaining brand standards and procedures. They manage operations, task distribution, team management and staffing.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and directs the Pastry-Bakery department and assists whenever needed.
  • Collaborates with all kitchen departments. Organizes meetings with the pastry-bakery department heads.
  • Creates, supervises, and adheres to recipe specifications while monitoring quality and cost. Performs recipe creation and costing in MC. Ensures financial goals are met.
  • Monitors stock of raw materials and completes order documents according to production needs. Contacts suppliers for the best raw materials. Conducts inventory.
  • Demonstrates correct and safe use of the workshop equipment.
  • Ensures the smooth operation of the department and proper task distribution. Creates the roster based on operational needs and company goals. Guides and trains staff daily and ensures high motivation. Evaluates staff and recommends promotions.
  • Participates in meetings. Keeps informed and takes action for upcoming events, creating menus and work plans.
  • Responsible for timely completion of HR Admin requirements, and creates the manning and budget based on company needs and goals.
  • Responsible for staff selection. Conducts interviews and hires staff according to company standards.
  • Knowledgeable in creating and controlling recipes for allergies and special dietary needs of guests.
  • Follows all H&S rules, hotel policies, SOPs, and Brand Standards at all times. Guides and encourages the team to do the same.
  • Participates in all trainings and seminars provided by the company and ensures updated knowledge on ingredients and pastry techniques.


Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience in similar roles (e.g., 5-star hotels, luxury restaurants, or cruise ships), with proven experience managing multiple restaurants of large capacity and diverse culinary concepts. Luxury hotel experience is preferred.
  • Experience in restaurants with buffet service is a plus.
  • International experience in the culinary industry is highly preferred.
  • Degree from a Vocational Training Institute (2 years) or a technical school.
  • Strong knowledge of pastry and bakery techniques, with proficiency in using related tools.
  • Expertise in recipe management, creation, and execution.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Greek is a plus (but not required).
  • Skilled in using Office applications, FMC, and email communication.
  • Solid understanding of hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Capable of managing crisis situations and resolving problems efficiently.
  • Strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
