The company offers the opportunity to those who wish to express interest in the position of “Underground Mine Geologist”, for its premises in Halkidiki. The position will report to the Senior Mine Production Geologist of the Technical Services Department, based in Olympias.
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily underground ore control and reporting
- Conduct underground mapping and collect geological and geotechnical data
- Supervise drilling activities
- Extract and analyze data from geological core logging, mapping, and sampling for ore production
- Advise on short-term mine production plans based on geological data analysis
- Supervise diamond drilling programs (Infill, Geotechnical, Hydrological, Utility)
- Collect geotechnical data from drill core
- Participate in ore grade control, sorting, and material tracking
- Maintain face maps, grade reports, and assist with geological interpretations
- Apply geology knowledge to assess rock types and groundwater behavior
- Plan and execute geotechnical projects in coordination with Mine Planning
- Assist in geological and geotechnical modeling development and maintenance
- Use mining software for design, mapping, and monitoring conditions
- Collaborate with mining personnel on grade control and ore production
- Optimize geological systems and ensure their effectiveness
- Prepare memos, maps, and reports with data findings and recommendations
- Handle ad hoc projects as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Geology
- 1 year of experience as a Geologist
- Experience in Geology and Mine Geology
- Experience in ore control, statistical analysis techniques, and using mining software, including 3D modelling
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with Geology software (Leapfrog) or other related design software
- Proficient in verbal and written English
- Strong team-oriented spirit with efficient time management skills
- Good judgment, decision-making abilities, and critical thinking skills
- Effective communication skills and the ability to solve complex problems
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong planning and organizational skills, including goal setting and the ability to adapt priorities when necessary
- A desire to continually learn and grow in relevant career/skills
