We are looking for a Senior Commissioning Engineer for our team based in Cyprus.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Senior Commissioning Engineer, based in Cyprus, who enjoys traveling (ca 50-60 % of the time, regular breaks at home provided) and will be responsible for overseeing commissioning activities at project sites across Cyprus and abroad (mostly within Europe). The engineer will manage on-site testing, support project activities, and ensure the successful execution of all commissioning tasks in line with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan & Manage On-Site Activities: Organize necessary local resources, equipment, and milestones for commissioning activities.
• Execute Commissioning: Support the full commissioning process from erection, testing, and commissioning to final handover.
• Ensure Quality & Safety: Ensure commissioning activities are completed efficiently and cost-effectively, adhering to contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Documentation Management: Maintain up-to-date commissioning documentation and apply necessary revisions in line with project requirements.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering or Automation Engineering.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in commissioning for HV/MV substations or power plants.
• Technical Knowledge: Experience with Substation Automation Systems or Protection and Control Systems and knowledge of Protection IEDs, SCADA, and RTU systems from different manufacturers like ABB, Siemens, GE, Hitachi, SEL etc
• Communication Skills:  Good English (spoken & written); additional languages are a plus.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve unexpected issues on-site with confidence and professionalism.
• Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage tasks effectively under pressure.
• Team-Oriented: Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Travel: Willingness to travel regularly for project assignments abroad.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

✔ HV/MV Substation Experience: Strong experience in HV/MV substations is highly valued.
✔ Industrial Communication Networks: Familiarity with IEC61850, IEC60870-5-101/104, Modbus, OPC UA is a plus.
✔ Advanced Degree: MSc degree is advantageous.
