PeopleCert is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Printer Operator to join our dynamic printing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various printing machines, ensuring high-quality output, and troubleshooting any issues that arise during the printing process. This role requires a keen eye for detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of print quality.
As a Machine Printer Operator your tasks will include the following:
- Set up and operate different types of printing machines such as digital printers, offline machines (Binding, billet maker, punch & wire units, book trimmers, folding laminating, & packaging)
- Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor print jobs to ensure quality standards are met, making adjustments as necessary to maintain consistency and accuracy.
- Identify and resolve any technical issues that may arise during the printing process, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous operation.
- Load and unload printing materials, including paper, inks, ensuring proper alignment and configuration.
- Maintain detailed records of print jobs, machine settings, and maintenance activities.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
What we look for:
- A degree in printing management or graphic arts or equivalent. Additional technical training in printing technology
- Previous experience as a machine printer operator or in a similar role within the printing industry.
- Proficient in operating various printing machines and familiar with the mechanics of each.
- Excellent knowledge of English (C2 level certification desired).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and internet usage; ECDL Core/Expert certification will be considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for long periods and handle heavy printing materials.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)
Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.
If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:
- A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
- Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence)
- HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)
- Financial background check
- Employment reference check.
- If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK.
In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
