Automation Engineer

Milkplan is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Automation Engineer to join our R&D Automation Team. About the Role:

As an Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions for our customers. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our automated systems.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement PLC programs for various automation applications in the dairy and farming sector.
• Design and configure HMI interfaces for monitoring and control.
• Work with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs/Inverters) for motor control and optimization in agricultural equipment.
• Interpret and create electrical schematics and designs.
• Create and update the products’ manuals according to their operational features.
• Troubleshoot automation system issues efficiently.
• Collaborate effectively with team members, including engineers, technicians, and farming specialists.
• Participate in project planning and execution, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices, particularly those related to agricultural environments.
• When required, attend customer meetings to support the sales force and management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in PLC programming (specify preferred platforms, e.g., Siemens, Schneider Electric) mostly in LD and FBD.
• Experience in HMI development (specify preferred platforms).
• Solid understanding of VFDs and their field of use.
• Proficiency in reading and creating electrical drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Fluency in, both writing and speaking, English and Greek.
