Sales development representative (SDR)

Caretta Research is looking for a highly motivated and results-oriented sales development representative (SDR) to join our growing team.

The SDR will focus heavily on sales operations and will play a critical role in building the top end of the sales pipeline through identifying and qualifying leads, prospecting potential customers and generating new business opportunities to underpin our ambitious revenue growth plans across our successful subscription-based data platform Caretta Portal, and our consulting business.

We serve the market for specialist technology research, analysis, consulting and market data in fields like broadcast and media technology, pro AV, ad tech and sports.

You'll be responsible for researching and targeting potential international customers, contacting them through phone calls, emails and LinkedIn, and scheduling meetings with qualified prospects.

You'll work closely with the sales manager and company leadership to ensure a smooth handoff of leads and provide ongoing support to help close deals. 

This is a fast-paced and dynamic role that offers a great opportunity for professional growth and advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research to identify potential customers and industries for outreach on a global basis
  • Prospect new leads and identify decision makers through a combination of phone calls, emails, and social media outreach
  • Conduct discovery calls to qualify leads by understanding their needs, budget, and timeline
  • Schedule a strong supply of meetings with qualified prospects for the sales team
  • Schedule meetings at industry events and conferences
  • Provide ongoing support to the sales team, assisting with sales presentations and materials
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of leads and lead interactions in the CRM system
  • Collaborate with company management, sales manager and marketing team, to execute and recommend initiatives to grow sales success
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets for pipeline value, new leads, and meetings arranged leading to closed deals

Requirements

  • Current experience in lead generation, prospecting or business development
  • Experience in B2B sales, preferably in SaaS, software, professional services and data products
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Impeccable verbal and written English, other languages a plus
  • Strong knowledge of sales and lead generation techniques
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and tools, such as Hubspot
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Highly organised self-starter with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
  • Must have a valid EU work permit and residency

Our process for this application involves:

  1. An application form and CV (must be in English).
  2. Three quick video questions.
  3. An initial interview with the hiring manager.
  4. A set of tests relevant to this role.
  5. A presentation of the findings and outcomes from the tests to the team at Caretta Research.

We aim to get successful candidates through the process within about 2-3 weeks.
