In a nutshell 🥜
We have high demand for Greek olive oil, and are looking for someone based in Crete to onboard new suppliers, manage relationships with existing suppliers, and negotiate prices based on sample analysis. The end goal is to enable these suppliers to onboard to and comfortably use our digital platform independently.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Supplier Sourcing & Selection: Research, identify, and evaluate potential olive oil suppliers based on quality standards, production methods, pricing, and reliability.
- Quality Control: Establish and maintain strict quality control procedures to ensure all sourced olive oil meets our company's standards and customer expectations. This may involve conducting regular quality assessments and collaborating with internal teams.
- Negotiation & Contract Management: Negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers. Manage existing supplier relationships and contracts, ensuring ongoing compliance.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, price fluctuations, and industry best practices in olive oil production and sourcing.
- Logistics & Delivery: Coordinate with logistics providers and suppliers to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of olive oil products.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with olive oil suppliers, fostering open communication and collaboration.
- Procurement Optimisation: Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes, seeking opportunities to optimise cost-efficiency and supply chain effectiveness.
Experience and requirements needed to be successful in this role:
- Several years of experience in the olive oil industry
- You must be based in Crete
- Fluency in Greek and English
- You'll ideally have experience in complex negotiations
- You must be comfortable with new technology, and exploring new tools such as AI in order to streamline and modernise our processes.
