POLARIS CONSULTING ENGINEERS IKE, based in Piraeus, offers consulting and Marine Chemist services in the marine field, is looking for two Chemical Engineers or Chemists to join our Team.

Positions Summary: 

Chemical Engineer/ Chemist Position:

We wish to train an individual to provide Marine Chemist services, which is mainly the provision of Gas Free Certificates on board vessels and other enclosed spaces.

The role of a Marine Chemist requires understanding and identifying chemical dangers on board vessels which is achieved through a training program conducted by experienced Marine Chemists and is followed by certification through examinations from the General Chemical State Laboratory.

In addition to the skills acquired through training and approved by relevant examinations, the candidate must be flexible, available, and have access to transportation.

 

Chemical Engineer/Chemist Position:

We aim to train an individual in various activities related to our company’s operations, such as:

Out of Office: Conducting onboard surveys and sampling. The individual must be available for domestic and international travels on short notice.

In office: Preparation reports and plans, Maintaining an inventory of potentially hazardous materials, Providing laboratory services, among other tasks.

The individual will receive training as necessary for the projects they will be involved in.

In addition to the skills acquired through training, candidate must be flexible, available, and have access to transportation.

 

Main responsibilities:

Out of the office: On Board surveys and inspections, domestic and international travels.

In office duties: Development of Reports, Calibration and maintenance of equipment, Communication with Shipping Companies, etc.

 

Qualifications:

- Degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.

- Willingness to work in the field and on board vessels.

- Excellent command of English Language.

- Good knowledge of MS Office suites (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).

- Working experience desirable.

- Goal-oriented, organized team player, self –motivated.

- Driving license holder
