Mar-Bella Collection: A family-owned group of four award winning five-star luxury hotels, dotted around the Ionian Sea in Greece & curated to suit the ever-changing needs of guests across different stages of their life. The iconic MarBella, perfect for families and multi-generational groups, the adults-only Nido, a Small Luxury Hotel of the World, and Avali, the latest addition to the Mar-Bella Collection portfolio are located on the island of Corfu. Elix is on the Ionian coast of mainland Greece and lays in a stunning location above Karavostasi beach between Parga and Syvota.

Mar-Bella Collection is looking for a passionate Sous Chef to join the Avali hotel team for 2025 in Corfu

  • Assist the Executive Chef in planning and supervising all aspects of food preparation and production in a high-end hotel kitchen.
  • Collaborate in creating innovative menus, focusing on quality, seasonal ingredients, and current culinary trends.
  • Ensure that all dishes meet the hotel’s high standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff, promoting a positive and productive working environment.
  • Manage inventory, control waste, and monitor food costs, aiming for optimal budget management.
  • Enforce all health and safety protocols, maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment and ensuring kitchen equipment is well-maintained.
  • Engage with guests when needed, handle special requests, and ensure a memorable dining experience.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role, preferably in a luxury hotel or fine-dining establishment.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety regulations, and kitchen management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of international cuisines and trends is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
