Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino

Located on the southwest coast of the Peloponnese, one of the most unspoiled and breath-taking landscapes in the Mediterranean, and 45 minutes’ drive from Kalamata International Airport.

The beachfront resort is part of the sustainable resort destination of Costa Navarino, a well-established tourism destination which includes 3 other resorts. It comprises of 99 suites and villas, all with outdoor terraces and sea views, along with seven restaurants and bars.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensures occupied and vacant guestrooms are cleaned and maintained up to the exact standard as demonstrated by Housekeeping supervisory colleagues during initial training.
• Removes all soiled linens and towels from room and handover to housemen or dispose in linen chute.
• Thoroughly cleans guest bathrooms, bathroom walls, bathtub, shower, water closet using the suggested chemicals. After cleaning, dry all areas, fixtures, and surfaces.
• Arranges all toiletries straightened on a piece of cloth in occupied guestrooms.
• Replenishes all amenities and terry items.
• Efficiently makes bed to meet appearance standard as demonstrated.
• Arranges all clothing items in occupied guestrooms, folded neatly according to standard as demonstrated.
• Upkeeps and cleans guestroom and bathroom and include all inside windows and mirrors.
• Removes all room service trays from guestroom hallways and/or corridor and bring to back landings and call for pick up.
• Vacuums the guestroom’s carpet and wipe down furniture and baseboards according to standard in all assigned work areas.
• Double checks cleanliness of completed work area and placement of amenities in each complete guestroom before moving on to the next task.
• Ensures to sign in and out for keys and hand-held device on a daily basis.
• Hands over any special requests to the incoming shift leader or respective manager
• Reports any suspicious persons or items in the guest rooms/ corridors.
• Recognizes and reports all missing, damaged or substandard furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
• Ensures that all electronic devices (television, remote controls, stereo, lamps, and telephones) are working properly.
• Evaluates work assignment and prioritize workload according to guest requests.
• Ensures all guestrooms assigned are completed with correct status marked at the end of the day including any information for input into guest history file.

Qualifications / Experience:

• EU passport or valid Residence Permit is mandatory in order to work in Greece.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working in a 5-star hotel environment.
• Minimum of 1 year of housekeeping experience.
• Basic housekeeping, chemical, linen and machinery knowledge is beneficial.
