Our Hotels’ team seeks to fill the position of:
Assistant Banquets Manager
Will be reporting to the Multi Property Director of Catering Services
Duties and Responsibilities to include:
- Understands the impact of Banquet operations on the overall success of an event and manages activities to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Support in the scheduling of banquet service staff to forecast and service standards, while maximizing profits.
- Assists team in developing lasting relationships with groups to retain business and increase growth.
- Supports in the monthly department meetings with the Banquet team.
- Applies and continually broadens knowledge of food and wine pairings and cutting edge cuisine with emphasis on current event trends.
- Acts as a liaison to the kitchen staff.
- Leads shifts and actively participates in the servicing of events.
- Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
- Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints.
- Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.
- Ensures employees understand expectations and parameters.
- Strives to improve service performance.
- Emphasizes guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focuses on continuous improvement.
- Reviews comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.
- Observes service behaviors of employees and provides feedback to individuals.
- Participates in the development and implementation of corrective action plans.
- Attends and participates in all pertinent meetings.
Additional Duties to support on:
- Compliance with all Local law safety regulations for food safely, food handling and Allergen compliance.
- Compliance with quality assurance expectations and standards.
- Accordance with company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment.
- Identification of new ideas, technologies, or processes to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savings.
- Maintenance of inventory and purchase orders log.
- Installation, maintenance, and conduct of preventative maintenance on, and recommend replacement of tools, appliances, and equipment.
- Inspection of tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects).
- Motivation of team and creation of a positive, and productive working relationships with other employees and departments.
- Deliverance of team Training initiatives on F&B Service standards, Customer Satisfaction, and all Health and Safety
- Assistance in preparation and running of safety drills
The successful candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills and attributes
- Degree in Hospitality Management or a related field
- At least 3 years of working experience in a similar position in the hospitality sector, preferably in an international, luxury environment, supervising a team of 30 or more.
- Excellent command of the English language certified at minimum of Proficiency level
- Excellent command of the Greek language
- Working knowledge of Micros
- Strong people and project management skills
- Problem solving skills. A can do attitude is a must.
- Organizing skills and coordination ability
- Analytical, numerical skills and attention to detail
- Interpersonal communication skills, integrity and commitment
