The American School of Classical Studies at Athens (ASCSA) seeks a full-time Manager of Loring Hall & Events to oversee the daily operations of its historic residence hall and to coordinate School events and receptions. This is a permanent position based in Athens, with a preferred start date between June 1-June 15, 2025.
Position Summary
Loring Hall is the primary residence for students and academic members of the ASCSA. The Manager is responsible for the overall management of the residence, including room allocation, hospitality services, facilities coordination, and ensuring a welcoming and efficient living environment. In addition, the Manager plays a central role in planning and executing School events, including lectures, receptions, formal dinners, and official gatherings.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of all the residential facilities and housekeeping for the academic facilities
- Prepare and monitor budget for facilities and food service
- Supervise housekeeping and maintenance staff to ensure high standards of cleanliness and upkeep
- Coordinate room/apartment assignments and manage resident arrivals/departures
- Manage event planning and logistics for lectures, receptions, and official functions
- Interact regularly with residential members
- Liaise with suppliers and service providers for catering and event needs
- Work closely with the School administration and report directly to the Director
Qualifications
- A university degree in hospitality services or another relevant field
- Prior experience in residential facility management, hotel operations, event planning, and budgeting
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in both Greek and English
- Experience in an academic or multicultural setting highly desirable
